What is ScreenAware?

ScreenAware is an innovative solution that automatically captures your on-screen activity and automatically attributes each minute you spend to the correct project or client.
It is effortlessly deployed via some downloadable installation file and does require only minimal setup.

What applications does ScreenAware support?

Basically: All

ScreenAware works without requiring any specific handling of individual apps. No need to install one plugin for this browser, another extension for that IDE or graphics solution, etc. etc. All out of the box, yay!

That being said, there are some limitations when using applications via desktop virtualization such as Citrix where ScreenAware can not reliably determine your work context.

If your use case involves such solutions, just get in touch so we can figure out how we can best approach and solve your scenario.

Can I export my data?

  • Every table or graph you see inside the ScreenAware dashboard features an export button which allows you to grab a CSV/MS-Excel dump of the displayed data.
  • Additionally you can generate and download a full zip-compressed JSON dump of all data stored in your account.
  • Lastly, and arguably the most powerful way to export your data, the exposed REST API you can use to access live data inside ScreenAware from your own applications.

What will happen to the data I gather during the closed beta?

When the beta period ends your account will automatically transform into a normal free account keeping all data and settings you entered.

However: At any point during the beta period we may detect bugs which require changes to our underlying system architecture.
Therefore at any point your activity history may be reset. If you prefer you can make use of the existing export features to locally save your data.

How much does ScreenAware cost?

Currently we are running in beta - if you got an invite ScreenAware does not cost anything.

Privacy & Security

Can anyone else see my activity?

No.

All data and information which ScreenAware tracks and aggregates is only available via your personal account password.

You can choose to share specific data to friends, colleagues, or your boss, but this will never happen without your explicit approval.

We respect your personal privacy and make sure nothing you don't choose is visible to anyone else (even if your boss pays the bill for a professional ScreenAware account).

Is my data secure?

Yes.

All data transmitted is encrypted using industry strength 256bit encryption over SSL (not affected by the infamous Heartbleed bug). Your personal address, email and password data stored on our servers is encrypted inside the database and your password is protected even more by using a random salt for the hashing process.
